The Falmouth Road Race was a gorgeous day for spectators, a little warm for runners, but not hot, not humid, not raining, and with a light breeze. As good as it gets here on race day! The runners looked great, and the spectators were as awesome as ever. This year I biked down to Elm Road, less crowded than the finish. Here’s what I saw.
A Spring Beauty in Windchime
We have beautiful flowering trees in Windchime. This is particularly vibrant. Anyone know what it is?
Falmouth Road Race Townie Registration Opens
Daughters and sons of beautiful Falmouth, that time has come to register for The Race! For years, my duty was to take care of the little ones while their parents ran. Then, after 30 years of running, my knees were acting up, and I stopped. But 7 years later, I wanted to lose a few pounds, and started again. And figured that would be the year I’d run the race. So very fun! Every Falmouthite who can, should be a runner at least once. There’s nothing like it. (And I finished in 1 hour, 28 minutes, at 68 years old. Once a runner, always a runner!)
Spring Fever!
You know you’re a true Cape Codder when the first topic of conversation every Spring isn’t the weather, but the hours you were stuck in traffic when the annual maintenance on the bridge reduced the lanes to one in each direction. Every year it happens; every year we forget and are caught unprepared the first couple of weeks.
Best Movers Evah!
Brian Welch and his crew went above and beyond today. I’ve moved 12 times in the last 20 years, I know about movers! They knew their job, were unfailingly courteous and respectful, and lowered the stress significantly. Thank you, guys, you are the best!
