Cranberry Harvest Near Bourne Farm
The cranberry bogs near Bourne Farm are among the oldest continuously operating cranberry bogs in Massachusetts. Because the bike path runs right by the bogs, they are very accessible. Halloween on Main St.
The staff of the shops on Main St. created scarecrows that reflect their own business. Take a look! My fave is “Edward Scissorhands” outside Headlines, the hair salon. Clever! And so are the others:
Cape Cod Marathon
Yesterday’s Cape Cod Marathon was a balmy 64-68 degrees. Back in the day, I volunteered with the Falmouth Track Club to help with this event, and was stationed at Mile 21, at the corner of School and Water Streets in Woods Hole. It was always freezing, and a couple of years there was snow and sleet. Global warming has happened fast! But yesterday was certainly nicer for the runners, maybe even a bit too warm.
