Cranberry Sojourn
We don’t often see reflections in the bog, but this is the week for that. Some of you may recognize the Eldred name on the tank – there’s an Eldred Circle nearby, so I’m guessing the Eldreds were long-time locals and were connected to the cranberry bog in some way. Anyone know?
Pump House on Wing Pond for Bourne Farm Bogs
Fifty-one weeks a year this is just an interesting building on the shore of Wing Pond. But one week in October, the doors are open, the pump is pumping, and the water flows from the pond to the bog to start the cranberry harvest.

Fresh Cape Cod cranberries are starting the journey from bog to Thanksgiving table. This was the scene yesterday at the back bog at the Bourne Farm bogs. Did you know this is the oldest still working cranberry bog?
