Berries are floating, equipment is in place.
Finally!
The Morning Glory and Thunbergia never bloomed this summer, I have no idea why not. But now, on October 15, when frost is in sight, they’re blooming…
Phase One of the Cranberry Harvest
I don’t think this is from all the rain we’ve had the last days. I’m guessing the flooding of the bogs for the harvest has begun. These are at the bogs just north of Bourne Farm.
Salmon Pastrami at The Pickle Jar
No, I’d not heard of salmon pastrami before either, but it sure was tasty! Another fresh, interesting, pretty, and delicious reason for lunch at The Pickle Jar.
More Favorites from the House Tour
I hope that “late” is better than “never”; here are more moments and vignettes from The West Falmouth Library House Tour on Sept. 30.
I was captivated by the grounds at the Harris sisters’ home, and lost track of time as I wandered through the many paths. Here’s some of what I saw. (And the inside was as enchanting as the outside!)
Look at this dining table at the Old Dock Rd house! I’ll confess to a mild case of lust. Loved the kitchen, too. These owners, by the way, have a dramatic buying story: They closed on a Friday, and Hurricane Bob hit the following Monday, and wiped out a good part of the house. Talk about an inauspicious beginning.
Great sink at the chic McInnes home at Westwind Cottages.
Meet Wendy Blomberg, my gifted and graceful Captain. It was immediately apparent that she’s been a docent before, probably during her Hingham years. I’m nominating her to pass along her insights and skills to future docents. Great job, Wendy, thank you!
