Have you noticed the postal trucks lined up behind the main post office on Main St? There always seems to be an aura of expectancy about them – full tanks, ready to go.
RIP, Treasured Tree
Landmark Dutch Elm that has graced the entrance to the main post office has succumbed. Its absence will take some getting used to.
Main Post Office Mural
Does anyone know anything about this interesting mural? I’ve heard it was painted as part of a WPA project in the 30’s, but I don’t know if that’s accurate. The painter’s name is visible, but no one at the post office today knew anything about the maker or the mural. It’s very cool, especially if it’s almost 90 years old!
Turkeys, Still
Now that the holidays are over, it may be just “turkey talk” for the next few months. Unless of course we have a replay of Snowmageddon. This was 1/4/17 outside the post office on Main St., Falmouth.
