I was at the Main St post office at 5:00 yesterday evening, and this vivid reflection of the sunset on the steeple of The First Congregational Church was so unexpected. And so delightful! (Cameras on the phone are one of the best inventions ever.)
Starry Starry Night at the First Congregational Church
Here’s the encore from the Greater Falmouth Community Chorus holiday concert at the Congregational Church on the village green this past Sunday. As we Falmouthites know, our own Katherine Lee Bates was the composer for “America the Beautiful”, and well, it’s not “Sweet Caroline”, but it is kind of the town anthem. It was a stirring moment to raise this song to the rafters! Kudos to the singers, accompaniers, and director. They start preparing for the Spring concert soon.
Hyannis Sound at First Congregational Church, Falmouth
Rain didn’t stop the pitch perfect a cappella group “Hyannis Sound” from captivating a full house at the church last night. They’re just college guys who like to sing, and performing is their summer job. They’re around for another 10 days or so, back at the church next Monday at 7pm, and at the Falmouth Jewish Congregation this Wednesday. They’re optimistic and exuberant, and the small personal stories they share are endearing. The musicianship is outstanding. Go if you can!
