People are so in love with our miles of coastline and beautiful ocean beaches, they sometimes don’t even know about our ponds. This one, Bourne’s Pond, was definitely the place to be on a gorgeous, warm Sept afternoon!

I’m thrilled and honored to have one of my photos from Cuba win the second place award in the Orleans Camera photo contest on Saturday. The judge was Marty Hassell. Her comment about this was, “Needless to say, the light of it is what sold it.” I’m so honored to have this image be acknowledged, and wanted to share with you. It was a beautiful memory of my first morning in Havana!
If you’re one of my past buyers, you have another image of mine. If you’re a future client, one day you’ll have one, too!
Thank you for the appreciation you all so generously share with me! Finding images is my passion, sharing them with you is my joy.

Went to an amazing multimedia performance last night at the Cotuit Center for the Arts of “Black Inscription”, a song cycle created by local musicians Carla Kihlstedt, Matthias Bossi and Jeremy Flower. The title comes from a reference by Rachel Carson to the line of microplants that live wherever the sea touches the rocky shoreline. The story was inspired by the life and death of free diver Natalia Mochanova. It’s impossible to describe the work adequately, as it’s certainly not like anything else I’ve ever seen. The music is a combination of original rock and jazz, the spoken text is voiced by Falmouth actress Tatyana Gessen and written by Hannah Silva, the sound design is by Quentin Chiappetta, and the visuals are from the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution. It’s an immersive, amazing work of art, and very different. There are a few seats left for Sunday’s performance at 2:00. Go, but only if you’re ready to surrender to wonder, allusion, and ambiguity, delivered by amazing creators!

When one works in a vacation destination, there’s usually little time to enjoy all the reasons the place is so popular. I don’t mind – I like my work, and I do still bike and swim as much as I can. But Tuesday I gave myself a little treat, and joined a photo tour of the spectacular Province Land dunes that are in the National Seashore in Provincetown. It was gorgeous, and a feast for my eyes and soul! Here’s what I saw (along with information for John Tunney, the photographer who leads the tour):
