During the memorable winter of 2015, I developed a few key ways to cope with the cold and snow that seemed endless, and one was to make some kind of soup every day. This was a quickie I put together today with sautéed chicken tenderloins, leftover risotto, kale and turkey broth. Tomorrow I’m doing spicy southwestern chicken and barley. Will share!
Time for Pond Hockey!
Find the skates, sticks and pucks in the back of the closet, clear off the snow from the nearest cranberry bog, and make the most of the arctic temps!

A Coast of a Different Color
Since I’m still on east coast time, I was up and out at daybreak. Wandering through any amusement park during off-hours is evocative, and the Santa Cruz Boardwalk didn’t disappoint. It was just the cleaning crews, gulls and me. So captivating to be able to look at it and really see, some vignettes large and some subtle. Here’s what caught my eye:
