Fifty-one weeks a year this is just an interesting building on the shore of Wing Pond. But one week in October, the doors are open, the pump is pumping, and the water flows from the pond to the bog to start the cranberry harvest.

There was something for everyone this morning in North Falmouth: the annual Pumpkin Day at Bourne Farm; a Zooma half marathon starting and ending at The Seacrest; and just in case you needed something quieter but no less exciting, the stripers were running in the channel at Old Silver Beach!

Brown Rocks in Gray Rocks
It was surprising to see this lot in Gray Rocks in North Falmouth completely clear cut. But I did chuckle noticing how much more appealing “Gray Rocks” is for a neighborhood name than is “Brown Rocks”. Man, you’ve got to have respect for that glacial moraine!
Look closely, you can see West Falmouth pink granite, a long-ago sought-after product, and recently discovered in the steps of one of the churches downtown.
