Usually I’m the one taking the pictures, but yesterday my kitchen was the subject of a photo shoot by Jon Moore, an architectural photographer. Gerrit Frase, architect, will be using the images for his portfolio and for publication in a Cape Cod lifestyle magazine he’s writing a feature article for. Here are a few seconds of “behind the scene.”
Nadine’s Nuggets, Part 3
#21700887
617 Surf Drive, Falmouth
$1,799,000
This is a home we’re all familiar with, one of the first contemporaries on stilts by the bike path between Mill Road and Oyster Pond Road. It’s been used as a summer rental, highly sought-after at $6,000 a week because of the location and setting. It’s young and comfortable, with 4 bedrooms and 2 baths; it has a private beach; and it’s on the bike path – pretty much everyone’s dream of a summer house. It’s prominent and makes a statement, but there’s not much privacy for anyone who values that. But wow, those views and those breezes – breathtaking!
#21700939
22 Dusty Miller Road, Falmouth
$2,599,000
With a protected view to Racing Beach and not in the flood zone, this older Cape on 1.7 acres is in its original, decades-old condition. Seems like a high price, because by the time renovations are done, this will be close to $3,000,000. The land and view are special, and maybe the house will be also.
Chuck B and I
Hoping that Chuck Berry is making heaven rock! Here’s his great song about my name, Nadine.
One of a Kind!
Here’s your opportunity, from the comfort of wherever you’re reading this, to tour one of the most interesting, sophisticated, and publicized homes in Falmouth: the Hutker property.
#21700896
14 Sippewissett Road, Falmouth
$1,495,000
Designed for himself and his family by Mark Hutker, the local architect whose firm’s designs are regularly on the cover of Architectural Digest and are sought after by celebrity and other well-heeled Vineyarders, this home makes brilliant use of a narrow, hilly lot. The 2.5-acre property, which abuts conservation land, consists of the main house, guest house, and in-law apartment, all with bucolic views across fields and a horse farm into woods. Lots of garages, privacy, and indoor-outdoor living, including a hot tub high up on a deck, and an outdoor shower accessed from the indoor shower in the owners’ suite. Very cool!
Invitation to Cape Cod Photography Show Opening
I’m honored that one of my photos has been chosen for “The Photograph” show at Bob Korn’s gallery, The Gallery UPSTAIRS @ Bob Korn Imaging in Orleans.
Bob is a world-renowned printer for many respected and successful photographers, not the least of whom is Joel Meyerowitz, whose iconic Cape Light: Color Photographs is still cherished decades after publication.
With the advent of digital photography and printing, our collective eye has become accustomed to the digital “look”. But if you go to this show, I promise you will fall into these photographs in a way that either you never have or you’ve forgotten you could. To call Bob a “master craftsman” is a big understatement.
Go to the show, study the images, and have the good fortune to meet the master himself! The opening is Thursday, March 16, 2017 from 5-7pm. The gallery address is 46 Main Street, Orleans.
Below are the other images that will be featured at the show, along with each photographer’s name:
