Marathon Sunday, under gray skies and spitting raindrops, 52 degrees – probably perfect weather to run 26 miles, except maybe the breeze was a little too energetic. Kudos to all the runners and their supporters! Hope you enjoyed the new route along the shore! Also, kudos to the team behind the marathon, who put in long days to make this beautiful event happen!
Cranberry Harvest Today, North of Bourne’s Farm
Today’s the day! Henry, the manager who’s been here over 50 years, is on the yellow machine. I talked to Israel, overseeing ground operations this morning.
Flooding the bog north of Bourne Farm, 10/22/19
This bog, the oldest continuously operating cranberry bog in MA, was being flooded Tuesday with water from adjacent Wing Pond (and with machinery and a process at least decades-old). The rest of the harvest will happen over the next few days.
