Ice on West Falmouth Harbor this past Sunday. Brrr! But the gulls still gotta eat! This one was slamming a clam on the West Falmouth Dock.
West Falmouth Library House Tour
West Falmouth Library House Tour Sunday had lots of enthusiastic participants as always. I was a docent at 101 Old Dock Rd. Rita Pacheco staged it for the tour, with thoughtfulness and elan. A feast for the eyes and senses! Kudos to the committee and volunteers who work so hard to make this annual event such a success!
Looking out the window of the historic Mill House toward the ice-encrusted harbor, during the West Falmouth Library House Tour.
The historic Mill House on West Falmouth Harbor. In 19 years have probably driven by it a couple of thousand times, and had no clue how charming it was inside. Not much updating, and so very captivating!
This pianist was at the Wild Harbor Rd house. Musicians were at all the homes, the library and church. So many talented people in our community who share generously!
Falmouth Clippers Football in Championship Game at Gillette Stadium!
Go Clippers! Championship fight Sat. on the hallowed turf of Gillette Stadium between undefeated Falmouth Clippers and equally undefeated Marblehead Magicians. It’s a cliff-hanger, nail- biter and will almost certainly be an exciting game between two talented teams. We send off our guys with a police escort at 12:15 to go to the game of their lives in a place few probably ever dreamed they might play in – Gillette Stadium!
Cross fingers, hold breath, pray, send good karma – do whatever you do to let our guys know the entire town is thrilled for them. God bless America, the land of opportunity, where hard work can bring young men to a place they probably never even dreamed of playing in. The guys earned this, we – all 32,000 of us – are bursting with pride.

A Doggie Thanksgiving…
The turkey drippings were irresistible to my newest granddog, Shep. And he is irresistible to all of us. The turkey, perhaps the tastiest ever, was a distant second to Shep’s frolics. The chickens could have cared less. Where’s OUR dinner?
New Listings, Part 2
#21609092
61 Alma Road, Falmouth
$660,000
This is a pretty good deal: The house is much more spacious than it appears from the street. With 6 bedrooms (and 2 baths), and a garage; and in the best Heights location – a quick walk to both Main Street, the beach and the ferry – it’s got a lot of appealing qualities. The price may be a little high, but probably not much.
#21608155
64 Thomas Lane, Falmouth
$1,349,000
Here’s a home with presence in a setting that reminds me of the Hamptons – gracious older homes behind privet hedges, and just one block from the beach. The house, however, needs either a buyer who wants the separate living area attached to the house for family or to rent out; or a buyer who will gut the home and capture that space. There is definite charm, nice high ceilings, and well-proportioned rooms in one part of the house. No garage, and definitely in the flood zone, but oh, the setting and location are prime.
