We don’t often see reflections in the bog, but this is the week for that. Some of you may recognize the Eldred name on the tank – there’s an Eldred Circle nearby, so I’m guessing the Eldreds were long-time locals and were connected to the cranberry bog in some way. Anyone know?

Loud old engines, that’s Henry in the first machine. The cyclists were mesmerized, and most stopped to watch.
Bouncing Berries
After the berries are rounded up from the bog, they go into a chute to this truck, and they’re blasted with water to clean them and to separate out the occasional twig. I never saw this before.
Pump House on Wing Pond for Bourne Farm Bogs
Fifty-one weeks a year this is just an interesting building on the shore of Wing Pond. But one week in October, the doors are open, the pump is pumping, and the water flows from the pond to the bog to start the cranberry harvest.
