Last December I took holiday photos of a scallop fleet captain and his family, and was paid in scallops. Yesterday I gave three photos I took in the 1980’s of the iconic turreted hotel in Onset that’s graced the hill in the village since 1883 (formerly known as the Stonebridge Inn, now as the Glen Cove Restaurant and Bar) to the current owners- who also are the owners of Marc Anthony’s Pizza, the other Onset Village icon. The photos I passed along are moody, evocative and interesting, and John Salerno was over the moon to have them. I left with the best pizza this side of New York, which I was happy to share with my friends from NY. They know!
If you want to step back in time, visit Onset. Often compared to Cape May, NJ, the Victorian homes, sandy beaches, and charming vistas will charm you. Have pizza at Marc Anthony’s, or sit at the bar at Glen Cove. There’s music on the weekends in the 1883 Room. You might even see my photos!
